Two Mitsubishi 750 kVA UPS modules

Designed and proposed electrical and mechanical infrastructure modifications. Instructed all engineering personnel on all mission critical equipment. Managed the maintenance and operational budget and project managed an infrastructure upgrade with a value of over $10 million.

Directly responsible for the financial stability of a building automation company managing installations, service and procurement, with a direct report to the company principals on financial profitability, employee productivity and material usage.

 

2002 - THE TRUMP CORPORATION - Director of Operations

Directed Resident Managers and staff members in the operation of seven condominium buildings in mid-town Manhattan. Negotiated with high profile and celebrity owners to resolve problems relating to building quality of life and alteration contracts. Specified mechanical/electrical and building control modifications and contracts to each condominium board of managers to maintain the common space.

 

2000 - GLOBIX CORPORATION - Mission Critical Manager

Managed a staff and operated mission critical equipment in multiple data centers:

One Trane Centravac 250 ton centrifugal chiller

Twenty Liebert Deluxe System/3 Environmental Control Systems

Two Caterpillar 2000kW 3516 emergency diesel generator sets

Eight Liebert 225 kVA UPS modules

Sixteen Liebert Power Distribution Units

ASCO automatic / programmable switchgear

All required trim and auxiliary equipment for the above

Project managed and developed a peak shaving generator system to relieve the Con-Edison 4 MW primary power source in a New York City Data Center. Designed and proposed electrical and mechanical infrastructure modifications. Instructed all engineering personnel on all mission critical equipment. Also, held the position of NYFD Fire Safety Director for the main data site.

 

1997 - SUSSEX COUNTY TECHNICAL SCHOOL

I instructed the 9th through 12th grade levels as a non-tenured teacher of Heating, Ventilating, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration.

Performed sales presentations for the Carrier Comfort Network and the Honeywell Excel 5000 Network to prospective customers. Designed systems and managed the labor force for new construction and existing retrofit work within the Building Controls Division.

 

1995 - LANDIS & GYR, INC. - General Engineer

Designed systems and managed a union labor force of electricians and pipe fitters for new construction and existing retrofit work within the Systems Operations Division of the Metro Branch of Landis & Gyr. 

 

1993 - JOHNSON CONTROLS WORLD SERVICES

American Home Products Corporation Project - Chief Engineer

Operated and maintained an 1800 ton chiller plant and 300 HP boiler plant with all associated auxiliary equipment:

Three York 600 ton centrifugal chillers

Two Cleaver Brooks 150 horsepower hot water boilers

Thirteen Carrier 39NX 35K-40K CFM variable speed Air Handling Units

Landis and Gyr System 600 Building Management System

All required trim and auxiliary equipment for the above

Additional duties included a process chiller system used to condition the company data site. I modified the design, installed and operated the HVAC/R, electrical equipment and building management systems. I managed the grounds maintenance contracts and maintenance staff.

 

1990 - CUSHMAN & WAKEFIELD - Citicorp Project

Operating Engineer (12:00AM - 8:30AM shift)

Operated mission critical equipment in multiple data centers on the 12 midnight to 8:30 AM shift:

Three Trane Centravac 500 ton centrifugal chillers

Two Iron Fireman 60 horsepower hot water boilers

Thirty-five Liebert Deluxe System/3 Environmental Control Systems

Three Caterpillar 2000 kW 3516 emergency diesel generator sets

Six Piller 415 Hz motor generator sets

Six Piller Uniblock rotary UPS modules

1989 - PAINE WEBBER, INC.

Operating Engineer (12:00AM - 8:30AM shift)

Operated mission critical equipment in multiple data centers on the 12 midnight to 8:30 AM shift. Equipment included all UPS, STS/PDU, Generators, Chillers, CRAC Units, Boilers, Halon-1301 fire suppression system, pre-action water fire suppression systems, programmable automatic switch gear and building management monitoring software systems.

 

1973 - UNITED STATES POSTAL SERVICE

Engineman/Building Equipment Mechanic

Operated and maintained a 1050 ton chiller plant and 400 HP boiler plant with all associated auxiliary equipment on the 11:30 PM to 8:00 AM shift including weekend work shifts:

Two Carrier 525 ton centrifugal chillers

Two Carrier 132.8 ton-reciprocating chillers

Two Cleaver Brooks 200 horsepower steam generators

Two Weil McLain 32 horsepower hot water boilers

Robert Shaw pneumatic control system

All required trim and auxiliary equipment for the above

Repaired or rebuilt centrifugal pumps, semi-hermetic refrigeration compressors, steam condensate return systems, and potable water booster pump systems. In the absence of the contracted elevator company, the US Postal Service trained select trade employees to operate and repair the hydraulic elevators of which I was one. Additional duties included maintaining the electrical system infrastructure connected to all mail processing equipment. I assembled and repaired all grounds maintenance equipment.

Before being trained in the maintenance trade, duties included mail processing and delivery. Training included passenger vehicle operation, one, two and five ton box truck operation.
